The saying ‘Janny has a gun’ came up during the photo shoot. After all, it looks like I have a ‘gun’ in my hand ? For over 15 years I have had a ‘gun’ in my hands. I’ll tell you more about it later, but first take you back to how it all started. My story is a mirror in which I see that I am now doing what has always been in me: meaningful work for people: permanent make-up and medical tattooing.

As a little girl, I loved making doll clothes. I sewed buttons on everything and could spend hours doing embroidery. Creatively and carefully, I worked on my embroideries and dolls.
When, as a young adolescent, I was looking for an education, I chose, after a search, the course Pedagogy and Health Education. People and meaningful work, that had to be in it.
In the fourth year, I found out that I did not like teaching as much, but being the go-getter that I am, I finished my studies.
Then I ended up in commerce and human resources. And soon I discovered a skill that is still an important one in my profession: advising people.
Yep, you can find it in the Yellow Pages! And I found my job in marketing there. Skill 2: lifelong learning. I studied marketing to develop myself further.
The arrival of my 2 children (now 22 and 23) created hectic and full schedules. My interest in working for and with people grew stronger. And I wanted to be more busy with my hands.
The documentary on plastic surgeon Professor Monstré’s work, breast reconstruction after breast cancer, struck a chord with me. It showed what a doctor cannot do, the reconstruction of the nipple and areola that make the woman complete again in her womanhood.
This profound story prompted me to make a big change in my life and career. I had found a new purpose: to help people meaningfully. I saw many new opportunities before me and I seized them with both hands. The helm was changing!
In my work as a professional in permanent make-up everything comes together, my creativity and passion for art and love for people. Everything was already there in the basics. In my practice, everything I find important in life comes together. My work is my passion.
And that brings me back to that photo shoot ‘Janny has a gun’. After 15 years of Permanent Beautiful, it was time for a new look. Together with Kristel, we made it a party. We had a huge laugh especially at the photo with the hand piece, as if I had a gun in my hands!
For 15 years ‘Janny has a gun’ and for just as many years ‘Juliette hasa gun’ has been my favourite perfume ? For 15 years happy and satisfied faces looked into my mirror and now I look into the mirror myself. I look back with pride on 15 valuable years of Permanent Beautiful. The practice where I would love to meet you again, in the Netherlands or Belgium.
