I am Janny Hanegraaf, owner of Permanent Mooi and specialised in permanent make-up and medical tattoos. I ‘restore’ the face, making you radiate who you are. I do this with passion. You probably recognise it, the moment in your life when you think ‘things have to change now’ or you discover what makes you happy. For me, that was the moment an impressive documentary was broadcast.

The documentary that really ‘got me hooked’, the work of plastic surgeon Professor Monstré, breast reconstruction after breast cancer. It touched a nerve. The documentary showed what a doctor cannot do; the reconstruction of the nipple and areola that makes the woman complete again in her womanhood.
This changed my life completely and is why I still practice this beautiful profession after 20 years. I am the proud owner of the Permanent Mooi practice in Den Bosch. Get to know me before you step into my practice.
The article in the NRC ‘This is me’ also tells my life story and my background.
The documentary was a powerful story and set me in motion, resulting in a major change in my life and career. I had an important goal: to help people in a meaningful way. I saw new possibilities and I pursued them with both hands. In my work as a professional permanent make-up artist, everything that makes me happy comes together. My creativity and passion for art, my love for people and my previously established studies at Fontys University (HBO) in the Health Studies and Interpersonal Skills teacher training program (formerly Higher Education South Netherlands). My profession is a passion, even after 20 years.
After all my training with reputable professionals and specialists in permanent make-up in Europe, my personal development and my extensive experience, I still see my profession as an art. I combine the cosmetic, medical and aesthetic aspects and advise people on suitable treatment. I am a professional in permanent make-up; I draw and restore people. Not to be confused with a beautician, because I am not one.
One of my hobbies is studying art. I travel throughout Europe to study artworks in museums and exhibitions. I can marvel at details such as those of a peacock feather, or how fine hairs and wrinkles are painted down to the last detail. The beautiful lines, refined technique, that is mastery. I draw a comparison with what I do every day, such as 3D areola tattooing and applying the fine hairs to the skin. Permanent make-up requires patience, focus and extreme precision.
In the blog about starting the permanent make-up practice, you can read more about my life experience and the reason why I understand clients so well, I suffered from hair loss myself.
I have attended various training courses and, to keep up with developments in the field, I continue to do so:
