A nipple areola tattoo with a 3D effect. The dermopigmentation technique is called aerola micropigmentation, or a nipple tattoo applied virtually painlessly. The sophisticated technique and safe and approved pigmentation fluid ensures a natural result. Breast reconstruction is a major event. After all the operations and treatments are over, there is one more important treatment to come: the nipple and areola tattoo.
This treatment, the areola tattoo, is a form of medical tattooing. For many women, it is a ‘celebration’. You close a drastic chapter of your life and feel complete and energetic again afterwards. And that is exactly what this closing chapter is all about! A look in the mirror after treatment, seeing your complete body, that is indescribable for the client and at the same time immediately so ‘ordinary’.
There are some important conditions before I can help you:
First of all, we have a detailed conversation together. I gain insight into your personal profile and your medical status. This is the only way I can properly map out the pigmentation.
A minimum of two treatments are required for a nipple and nipple hip tattoo. Have you had a nipple tattoo after breast cancer at Permanent Mooi? Then updating is completely free up to three years after the last treatment. You can read all about it in the blog why I offer that.
Based on measurements, I make a pencil drawing of the nipple and areola on the skin. If you want, I apply a soothing cream beforehand.
I start the pigmentation, using an ultra-fine needle to very precisely inject several colours of pigment into the right layer of skin.
I use different colour shades and colour pigments, precisely because of this I create nipples with a natural look. For example, the visibly dark-coloured glands on the nipple or breast when exposed to cold or heat.
The treatment itself is (virtually) painless. This is because the surrounding area is mostly numb. The only thing you notice is the vibration of the equipment.
The tattoo is immediately cared for with a soothing and restorative cream.
For taking care of the tattoo at home, I will give you detailed instructions and cream.
If you wish, you can immediately resume your daily activities.
We immediately make another appointment for the second treatment after at least 6 weeks. By then, the skin will have healed sufficiently. This treatment is necessary to update the shape and colour.
In a tattoo that I apply after breast reconstruction, pigments may colour differently and be absorbed or rejected. This is because skin from another part of the body has been applied there. This is precisely why that second treatment is so important.
