We humans are known for seeking and building in certainties. And that is why we explore the advantages as well as the disadvantages of permanent make-up. I have to disappoint you, because those who start the search for disadvantages of permanent make-up will be deceived. Because actually, there are no disadvantages to permanent make-up. BUT. you have to do something for it!
And then the client often says:
You see your beautiful you in the mirror again! You have your radiance back! Your inner self is at the forefront. Everything suddenly feels better and lighter about you. You are in your power. But then…
Permanent make-up is at its best for 1.5 to 2 years and so that is the time to touch up your eyebrows.
But if you’ve had thick, dark eyebrows done in the past, unfortunately, not only do they become a shade lighter like an average eyebrow, but they also turn grey and dull in colour. This is due to UV light and skin cell turnover, among other things. And if you wait too long to touch up, the grey hue will only get worse. Just like this example below. This permanent make-up was done by a colleague and about five years old (I am not a fan of thick and dark permanent make-up).
The solution to greying eyebrows is simple, but takes time. To restore the colour, I apply a mustard colour, a yellow shade. When I add yellow to grey, a beautiful, brown shade is created. The example as pictured below is the result of one treatment of permanent make-up. So it takes time and many layers are needed. The next appointment has been scheduled and maybe one more will follow.
Compare it to painting a dark wall. If you want to make that dark wall white again, you need several layers. With eyebrows turned grey, it works exactly the same way.???

Take a subtle approach to your permanent make-up and get it touched up on time. My preference: a beautiful, natural look. With the small ‘downside‘ of having to touch up your permanently beautiful eyebrow after 1.5 to 2 years. Would you prefer firm, dark brows anyway? I’m not a fan of it, so colour those in myself every morning then. ?
